Our purpose as the Black Methodists for Church Renewal (BMCR) Youth Council is to encourage
and empower black Methodists and others for service in the UMC. Through the empowerment of the Almighty God, we equip youth
servants and leaders for effective service through education and training. Our four main goals are:
1. To participate in and impact the decision-making bodies of district, conference and church wide agencies.
2. To sponsor and promote dialogue between black and non-black United Methodist churches.
3. To serve as an agitating conscience to expose and eradicate latent and overt forms of racism.
4. To increase individual church membership in BMCR by 100%.
We want to bring about change for social, political, and economical justice that results in a genuinely inclusive
and relevant church for all God's people.
